Quran & Science: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026 ยท App: Quran & Science (Android package com.mymax.quranscience)

Quran & Science is a reading app. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of our own. We do not collect, store or sell your personal data. This page explains what stays on your device and what the third-party services used by the app receive.

1. What stays on your device

The app saves these settings only in its private storage on your phone: the language you chose, the theme, the Arabic text size, your bookmarked facts, and small counters used to space out ads and to remember a temporary unlock. We never receive them. Android may back them up to your own Google account (Auto Backup); you can switch that off in your phone's settings. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

2. Content loaded from the internet

Photos, videos and the audio recitation are loaded when you open them, from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org) and from the Islamic Network audio CDN (cdn.islamic.network). Like any web request, this lets those services see your IP address and device type. Links such as "Open on Quran.com" or a source link open in your browser and are covered by that site's policy. We do not receive any of this information.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Free users see ads from Google AdMob: an occasional full-screen ad, and ads you can choose to watch to unlock an extra or get a break from ads. Google may collect and use the advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions to show and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where you agree, personalise ads. Ads are limited to the "General audiences" content rating. Where the law requires it (European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland and some US states) the app first shows Google's consent form; you can change your choice later in More > Privacy choices, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads). Read how Google uses data from ads and Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Premium subscription (Google Play Billing)

Premium removes ads. The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. The app only learns whether your Google account has an active subscription (and a purchase token to confirm it). We do not see your name, card or payment details. Manage or cancel it in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions.

5. What we do not do

When you share a fact, the app creates a text or a picture and gives it to the app you choose in Android's share sheet; nothing is sent by us.

6. Summary of data handled by third-party services

Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). We have no data of yours to delete; to remove ad data held by Google, use your Google account's ad settings.

7. Children

The app is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Ad content is limited to the "General audiences" rating.

8. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date above changes and a new version of the app links to it. Questions or requests: xpnevermore@gmail.com.
